Graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 1977 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree. Bruce earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 1990, graduating cum laude from Marquette University. Following graduation, Bruce moved to Daytona Beach, Florida where he began his career as a civil litigation attorney at Cobb Cole, P.A., first as an associate and later as one of its shareholders.
Bruce has a diverse civil litigation practice that includes the defense of personal injury and wrongful death cases, the defense of insurance agent and broker claims, and the defense of professional negligence claims, as well as insurance coverage questions, contractual disputes, and shareholder disputes. His civil litigation practice has a wide range that has included successfully defending the School Board of Volusia County in a First Amendment claim that ultimately reached the United States Supreme Court to defending a local corporation in one of the largest and most complex shareholder disputes to arise in Volusia County.
Bruce is admitted to practice, and has successfully represented clients, in all three of Florida’s Federal districts, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Since being admitted to the Florida and Wisconsin Bar in 1990, Bruce has represented clients in numerous trials and appeals throughout the State of Florida in both State and Federal courts. Bruce is a member of the Volusia County Bar, the Defense Research Institute, and the Florida Defense Lawyers Association.
