Michael was born and raised in DeLand and has been a lifelong resident of Volusia County. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Stetson University in 2001, followed by his Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from Stetson University College of Law in 2005.

After being admitted to The Florida Bar in 2006, Michael began his legal career with Bobo, Ciotoli, Bocchino, Newman & Corsini, P.A., in North Palm Beach, where he litigated complex medical malpractice and personal injury matters. Michael returned home to Volusia County in 2007 and joined Paul & Elkind, P.A., where he was involved in a wide range of practice areas, including landlord-tenant disputes, Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy, foreclosures, property law, and criminal defense. In 2020, Michael founded Kelton Law, P.A., where he provided legal services to clients throughout the DeLand and Deltona communities.

In 2026, he joined Wright & Casey, P.A., bringing with him years of litigation experience, practical legal knowledge, and a continued commitment to helping clients. Michael’s practice now focuses primarily on wills, trusts, estate planning, probate, and real estate financing and litigation.

Michael is a member of The Florida Bar and served as President of the Volusia County Bar Association from 2018 to 2019. He is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Michael is also active in the local community. He currently serves as Treasurer for Sands Theater Center, Inc., which oversees the operation of the historic Athens Theatre in DeLand, and previously served as a board member of Dutton House, Inc.
