RICHARD WRIGHT

Richard received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, with majors in philosophy and political science from Florida State University in 1984. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida College of Law in 1987. While at UF, Richard served as Chairman of the Moot Court Board and Attorney General of the Student Honor Court. He was selected for Phi Beta Kappa and Florida Blue Key membership.

Richard was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1987 and began his litigation practice with Maguire, Voorhis & Wells, P.A. in Orlando, Florida. In 1993, he founded a multi-lawyer litigation practice in Orlando and managed the firm until joining Wright & Casey, P.A. in 2021, as of-counsel. Richard has litigated, arbitrated and mediated a wide range of plaintiff and defense matters throughout Florida and the United States. In 2018 the Ninth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission nominated Richard for circuit judge. He holds and ‘AV’ rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Richard has been committed to community involvement in Central Florida for over 30 years. He has served on numerous boards including the Center for Independent Living, the Orange County Bar, the Florida Center for Theological Studies, the First Congregational Church of Winter Park, The Florida Bar Board of Governors-Young Lawyers Division, the Mayflower at Winter Park-Senior Living Center, the Boy Scouts of America and several homeowners’ associations. He served as the voice of the Edgewater High School Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team, Governor and counselor to the Florida American Legion Boys State program and as a member of The Florida Bar Speakers’ Bureau.
